The  Urban-Galindo Project in Barakaldo is especially representative of the change undergone by Metropolitan Bilbao. Aguilar y Varona Arquitectos’s project in the Urban Galindo area comprises 122 dwellings in a building with a contemporary and sustainable architecture, situated on a strategic plot, a facade of the river and gateway to the new neighbourhood of Barakaldo.

The new construction stands like a bastion at the beginning of the new Avenida Altos Hornos, the reason behind fomenting life in the interior patio from which access is gained to all the dwellings.

The building adapts to today’s needs with the maximum number of spaces in the smallest area possible. The meticulous study performed to achieve this objective saw the reduction of two vertical elements of communication, resulting in functional dwellings, compact in their distribution, with exceptional views, illumination and construction quality
